This year the Global Television project will study Latin American series !

In 2014 the international network S.E.R.I.E.S. initiated a cycle of conferences on television series and their increasing tendency to travel throughout the world. The second conference of the cycle will welcome academics, scriptwriters, and producers to discuss Latin American series, their characteristics and cultural variations. What image of Latin America is expressed by these fictions ? What themes emerge ? How is the linguistic and cultural diversity of these countries represented ? Who watches and who buys these productions ?

Two days will be devoted to debates, lectures and projections which will lead to a better understanding of the telenovela and the « teleseriés ».

The conference is co-organised by the S.E.R.I.E.S. network, the Laboratoire communication et politique-Irisso, the BPI-Pompidou Center, the research group Justices, Images, Languages, Cultures (JILC) of University Paris 8 and the Center for Study and Research of literature and orality (CERLOM) of INALCO.
